Annual medical clinics plus a stock of wound care supplies and basic medicines for year-round relief
One Global Village hopes to open a “Health House” in Dagabo with an onsite nurse or doctor – to be named Hawa Clinic – but until that time, we provide access to immediate treatment for wounds, fevers, and other ailments. We stock basic OTC medicines and wound care supplies in a locked cabinet at the school, and have trained a member of the School Committee and the treasurer of the Women’s Committee (two of the few literate adults in Dagabo) to track reported ailments and distribute meds as needed.
Wafo, a graduate of Siraba School who continued onto and completed nursing school in Ouéléssébougou, visits Dagabo each month to check on the school children, pregnant and nursing mothers, and to provide basic care. Hawa Clinic is a vital step to increasing the overall health of the community in Dagabo.
