Health Is a Fundamental Need

Improving access to medical care, nutrition, and health education
Health is a necessity, and should not be a privilege. But lack of access to health care is a limitation for many villagers worldwide. Without sufficient nutrition, even the brightest student struggles to concentrate. When local health facilities are understaffed and rarely have anesthesia or needed medications, women and men must bear the pain and shame of a disfiguring goiter. Without access to clean water and simple preventative medications, children suffer from parasites and water-borne illnesses. Without comprehensive health education for both girls and boys, stigma and taboos restrict girls’ abilities to fully participate in school. Without knowledge of how the body grows and functions, many women unwittingly pass false beliefs among themselves, and on to their daughters. Help One Global Village alleviate these limitations and improve access to health for villagers around the globe.
“He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.” Thomas Carlyle
