In India, over 1,000,000 people are moderately or severely burnt every year.
According to the World Health Organization, almost 2/3 of all burn-related deaths each year occur in Southeast Asian and African countries. One Global Village seeks to reduce these horrifying statistics. On a recent medical and educational mission to India, and in collaboration with local fire battalions, One Global Village incorporated fire safety and burn prevention education and exercises into its health education training at several schools around Bhopal, India. KCK Firefighter/EMT Ryan Beasley demonstrated stop, drop, and roll to students, and proper use of fire extinguishers to their teachers.
