Supporting 200 students in grades K-6 at Siraba School in Mali; alumni in middle school, high school, & trade schools; & university & graduate students in Uganda
All children deserve access to education. That education should be practical, inspirational, enjoyable, enriching, and empowering. One Global Village began by building the Siraba School in Mali, West Africa, and supporting the school remains a core focus. The school now includes teachers from kindergarten through 6th grade who ably integrate art, music, dance, and joy into their core curriculum. The Health and Healthy Behaviors program introduces all grades to practices of hygiene, self-care, and environmental stewardship, and provides older students and those in middle school in Piébougou Mali with vital lessons on topics from their bodies to their opportunities. Former Siraba School students now in high school and trade schools are exploring ways to help themselves and their families. Outside of Mali, we support several university and graduate students in Uganda who are passionate to give back to and transform their communities.
